Welcome Dear one,

I’m Rev. Kaeley McEvoy

I consider myself a playful prophet. I’m an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, a progressive Christian tradition. I am also a student of the earth’s wisdom and my grandfather’s ability to make soup kitchen donations into a feast.

I meet people wherever they are on their spiritual journey and help feed their hunger for political education and justice learning. Wherever I am I strive to create communal spaces with intention and integrity and a little bit of whimsy.

I’m a Jane of all trades, to the extent that my middle name is actually Jane. I preach, teach, write, and organize with different communities across the DMV, country, and world. I’ve performed weddings on organic farms and beachside breweries. I’ve researched interfaith relations and participated in peace delegations in Morocco, Palestine, Israel, and Ecuador. I’ve blessed third trimester abortion clinics, organized healing spaces for racial justice activists over Zoom, and held blow horns for justice in front of the White House.

I received my Masters of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City with a focus in interreligious engagement and eco-feminist theology. I focused my thesis project on uplifting the legacy of the Clergy Consultation Service on Abortion and the legacy of protecting reproductive rights in religious spaces. While at Union, I also won the Karen Ziegler award for Feminist Preaching. My sermons have been featured in the Washington Post and Sojourners’ “100 Sermons Against Domestic Violence” list.
